Mini 12V LED downlight Kit (Now with Cable Hooks!!!)
thingiverse
Like low power lighting? Well, we've got a solution for you! This set of parts lets you construct small LED spotlight feature lighting with adjustable brackets. It comes with some cable hooks to get you started. To do this project, you'll need: * 5mm LEDs (high intensity - pick the ones that work best for you) * Some 3mm nuts and bolts (10-20mm) - use two per bracket * Resistors (220-400 ohm - 390 is preferred) * Hot Glue or its next best alternative * Soldering experience or money to buy pre-wired LEDs * Figure Eight speaker wire or similar insulated wire Check your local electrical regulations; some countries are getting pretty strict about this now. You'll need 8G x 19mm Square drive (self-countersinking) screws, or something like them. The resistors limit current so you don't overheat the LEDs. Put them in series with the LED, or buy pre-made LED kits from Ebay or Jaycar dealers. Resistor value affects power use and intensity: Lower: more power used, more brightness, shorter lifespan Greater: less power used, less brightness, longer lifespan We recommend 330 and 390 ohm resistors. They're in the ISO preferred ranges and come in 2% Metal film. Go for 1/2 watt ones to avoid overheating ABS. Look at the attached images for assembly ideas. If you plan on making lots of these, find an "LED Driver Circuit" on Ebay; it's worth investing in. Feel free to comment or ask questions - but use fuses and overload protection! Don't say I didn't warn you!
