This is a full dual-rail adapter using two MGN12H blocks to adapt the Mingda D2 Y-Gantry bed plate. This adapter is very rigid in comparison to the 604z bearing wheels the printer comes with stock. I’ve printed mine with a 0.6mm nozzle at 0.4 or 0.3mm layer height in standard PLA off Amazon. I’m sure you can print it using ABS or PETG to make it stronger, but I’ve been using this adaptation for weeks now and it suits me fine as it doesn’t come in any concerning contact with the heated bed. I’ve also found that the HOMERS 240*250 24V bed works well with this printer. I’ve soldered an XT60 connector to allow the disconnect of the wires if need be. Will hopefully print a connector to secure more but I haven’t had any issues as of yet. when I printed in PLA but can be printed in PETG or ABS and higher temps should you wish or are concerned of heat issues. I’ve used two M5 screws and nuts with washers to secure this bracket on either side of the Y gantry plate, two M3 screws each side to the MGN12H blocks and two M3 18mm or 16mm standoffs to secure with the two stock M3 screws for the Y-Belt connector plate. Please check out my other designs as I’ve also designed a set of bumpers to accommodate for a y-belt tensioner nut/knob of choice. One will likely have to have the handle stood off from the bumper due to the chassis frame by the LCD controller. This is such a huge upgrade and so beneficial as the wheels do eventually wear down much faster than an MGN12H block will, plus it is much more stable without needing to fiddle with eccentric nuts. I’ve secure red the rails with two M3 T-nuts which do not twist on each rail. I have not noticed any bowing but if you decide to put more, keep in mind not to loosen one of the M5 screws holding the 2020 rails to the chassis — one of them holds your ground wire inside for the PSU … Not something you want to loosen and then turn on. Finally I’m offering this to install at your own risk; check your connections before you hook this up and happy printing! I know I am!
