Minerva (Design a Planet Project)
thingiverse
Minerva, a planet half Earth's size, exists 80 AU from its blue star with an average temperature of 15,000 degrees Celsius and a lifespan of 10 million years. Despite being distant from the star, volcanoes release carbon dioxide, keeping Minerva warm by releasing it into the atmosphere. The lack of tectonic plate movement further helps retain carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, as rocks containing carbon are quickly released back as CO2. Additionally, liquid water is present on Minerva, with rain combining with chemicals from older land-based rocks to form carbonaceous rocks, which balance out atmospheric CO2 levels. The presence of water also supports human life, while producers help maintain oxygen levels and a protective ozone layer. Despite limitations in the model, it accurately depicts water and land masses, volcanoes, and some producers, providing insight into Minerva's potential to support human life.
