Miner, the spirited school mascot for Linton Indiana High School. This project was created as a favor to another Maker who has been following my work closely. The design is based on a single picture that I was provided with (take a look at the picture section). He has already made several copies of the model and distributed them among the coaches of the football team. No supports are required for this print, and if you have the right filament colors, no painting is needed either. The completed model stands at an impressive 295mm tall after assembly. There are 40 individual parts to this model, but they are all relatively simple to print and assemble. Enjoy! Print Settings Printer: FlashForge Creator X Rafts: Not necessary Supports: None required Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 10% Notes: Check out the following helpful printing and assembly tips. Building the Model Colors (note that there are no multiple printed pieces) Light Brown: boot_right boot_left ... Dark Brown: pick_handle_bottom pick_handle_top ... Beige (flesh): arm_right_top arm_right_bottom arm_left_top arm_left_bottom face_top face_bottom ... Grey (silver); pick_cap pick_head lantern_bottom lantern_top lantern_handle lantern_strap1 lantern_strap2 buckle helmet ... Yellow: helmet_light ... Orange: helmet_letter lantern_globe ... Black: eye_right eye_left beard hair belt boot_sole_right boot_sole_left ... Pink: shirt_front shirt_right shirt_left ... Blue: vest pants ... Printing and Assembly Tips 1. No supports are required for this print. 2. I used a brim on just a few pieces; use your discretion based on your own preference. 3. For the best-looking model, be sure to clean up any brims thoroughly. All the parts fit nicely together, provided that the brims/squish are cleaned up. This includes the holes for the body_bumps. 4. Specific notes on a few parts: -The left/right shoe_soles are interchangeable in case you mix them up. -Some bumps are identical even though I have separate STL's; the color list above defines them. -The lantern_handle STL contains two pieces, which will fit either way. -The pick_head STL contains both halves, no left or right. -The eyes are not mirrors. The flat side that was on the print bed is the side that fits into the head, with the thicker side towards the nose. 5. Think ahead when deciding the order of gluing parts; double-check against the diagram. 6. The joints are not foolproof but parts fit nicely when rotated properly. 7. Extra care should be taken to ensure lantern_strap1 and 2 have the inside of the first layer cleaned well, it's a clean tight fit around the globe. You may need to play with adjusting how they fit over the globe even rotating them a bit for a good fit; I didn't glue mine in as they sit very well once positioned. Assembly Tips -The diagram in the pictures section will help in assembling the model and is quite straightforward even though there are many pieces.
