Locality: Bălan (Balánbánya) is a Romanian locale. No.: - is the designation. Size: 26 x 18 x 9 cm are the measurements. Description: This miner's helmet originates from the Bălan mining area in Romania, where mining ceased operations in 2006. The helmet comprises bakelite and leather materials. A metal bracket is situated on the front part of the helmet to secure an electric cap lamp, which is currently missing. The cable connecting the lamp to a battery pack on the miner's belt would circle around the rim of the helmet and be secured by a cord holder at the back of the helmet.
