Minelab Sovereign GT custom lithium polymer (lipo) battery pack holder
thingiverse
This custom battery holder is designed for use with Minelab Sovereign GT metal detectors and fits the AA battery pack lid cover perfectly. It enables users to utilize a lithium polymer (lipo) battery, which charges rapidly, lightens the machine's load, lasts longer than standard nimh batteries, can be recharged rather than discarded, and provides numerous other benefits. This holder is specifically crafted to accommodate a Turnigy 11.1v 1450mah lipo without any issues. To charge this type of battery safely and efficiently, it is imperative to use a suitable lipo compatible charger. For a seamless transition, simply remove the original AA battery pack's contacts and install either futaba or JST type connectors connected via a female connector with all necessary soldering done correctly. A few crucial warnings should be heeded: - Adhere strictly to polarity to prevent damage to your machine. - Never short circuit a lipo, as this will lead to catastrophic consequences for the device. - Ensure the battery remains dry and moisture-free at all times. Installation Instructions: Should you need to adapt your print settings due to varying sizes of available print beds, please note that rotating the print by 90 degrees may be necessary. A heated bed is highly recommended to achieve optimal results. Once printed, follow these straightforward steps: - Remove original wires and contact points from the bottom piece of the tray. - Connect a female futaba or JST compatible connector with proper soldering. - Job done – no complications or technical difficulties expected.
