A protective magnetic cover is designed to safeguard the charging terminal from corrosion and mud, ensuring a reliable charge connection. To print this project, you will need some magnets. I used Magnet Expert 20 x 6 x 1.5mm thick N42 Neodymium Magnets with 1.6kg Pull (Pack of 10) from Amazon. Using Cura as my slicing software, I employed the Post Processing Script pause at height feature to insert the magnet and then resume printing. To set up your slicer correctly, pause your layer before the magnet compartment closes. See the screenshot below for an example, but be aware that settings may vary based on your specific configuration. Make sure to orient the magnet's polarity correctly so it attracts to the magnet in the handset. Also, place the magnet on the print bed during printing to ensure it reaches the optimal temperature along with the rest of the bed, rather than starting cold. If you prefer not to print this accessory or don't have a 3D printer, you can order it from uk-historyfinders.co.uk.
