This is a cutting-edge project that poses a risk to your machine if not executed properly, so approach this design with caution when printing it. The lamp's main body is printed in five stages across three colors without being lifted from the bed. The only components removed during those five stages are the outer square and any brim produced by your slicing software. This part was designed to work seamlessly with Slic3r, but any slicing program that can center an object based on its outer dimensions should be able to use it effectively. It makes use of the retraction Z lift function to avoid colliding with other sections of the print. While not ideal, this approach does make the print feasible without gaps. The STL models themselves are perfectly fine, but Slic3r struggles to join the cubes together, resulting in small gaps. Slic3r often fails to render even basic meshes accurately, and this is just a minor example of that issue. You can use anything you like to illuminate inside it; I personally use a small section of 12v natural strip light powered by an AC adapter. Stages 1 and 5 are printed with black filament. Stages 2 and 3 are printed with red. Stage 4 can be either natural or white.
