Minecraft Esq Torch
thingiverse
This is a Minecraft torch-inspired project I created for my 5-year-old nephew, who's thoroughly enjoying the game right now. Designed as a holder and nightlight for a £1 shop LED torch, it combines functionality with fun. The design allows for easy mounting on a wall or bed head, making it perfect for his bedroom. A small raised area at the bottom of the holder enables users to turn the torch on and off by simply pushing down on the top. Adding a bit of foam to this area helps create a spring-like effect, making it easier to use. The lens was printed in clear PLA, while the other parts were made from standard PLA. The components are designed to fit together seamlessly, with some parts screwing in or simply pushing onto the body of the torch (lens, on/off pusher, tread, and base). One notable feature is that the lens doesn't require gluing, as I plan to create interchangeable lenses for my nephew to customize his design. This way, he can easily switch between different lenses to suit his preferences. I hope you like this design! Feel free to ask any questions or share your finished prints with me.
