Minecraft characters are the go-to models for 1st to 3rd grade students in the Greater Gallatin United Way kidsLINK enrichment program. With our guidance, students master 3D computer design using Blender. We select Blender because it's free, compatible with every operating system, incredibly powerful and robust, and boasts an impressive array of tools. Blender enables our students to delve into almost every aspect of 3D design, from basic shape manipulation to designing cars and aircraft, to unleashing their artistic creativity through 3D sculpting. Once our students complete modeling, we bring their creations to life by printing them on a Makerbot Replicator 2.
