I've enclosed updated ("v3") versions. As it turns out, STL files can now be imported as solids into Solidworks instead of just a graphics mesh. I've edited the original to use extra hinge material, and separated the two halves from the original files so they can be printed independently. Upon closer inspection, the tight hinge on my chest is due to forgetting to leave room for the hinge on the bottom side, which might also explain why it wouldn't center properly. Two test prints confirmed this issue. I'll update later to include the double chest model. A modified version of the original model where I fixed a loose hinge and added extra support. Modelled in Solidworks. The dimensions and tolerances for the hinge are unknown, but at 50% scale, it's tight and won't center as expected. However, this tight hinge keeps the lid closed when turned upside down or lifted by the lid. I've made separate files so you can add them together in your slicer if desired, or print them one by one for a larger chest. I'll update later to see if I can improve the hinge design for easier opening and centering.
