Minature Polaroid Camera with Instagram Picture Frame

I designed this Polaroid OneStep / 1000 Camera entirely from scratch in Cinema4D as a gift, including a custom-fit Picture Frame that fits perfectly within the camera. It's 60% of the scale of the original Camera, which I found to be an ideal size for a gift. I specifically designed it as a multi-part object that can be printed with a single extruder printer without any supports required. UPDATE November 29th, 2014: After discovering the STLs had reversed normals, I corrected this issue and uploaded a new version (v2) of the design. PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS To print, use Black PLA for all body parts and the film tray. I printed it with 200 micron resolution (saving time) at 10% infill. The design incorporates a special tray feature that provides added rigidity to the body and enables smooth insertion and removal of film. For the face plate, picture frame, and its holder, use White PLA or Warm Grey PLA. I recommend printing those details at 100 micron for the best results. The Button is printed in Red or Green PLA (depending on your preference) since original Polaroid cameras had buttons of either color over the years. Choose any color you like for the strip on the front - if your printer allows it and you're feeling creative, pause printing at regular intervals to switch filaments for that iconic rainbow effect! Assemble those parts with a RAFT due to its thin nature. ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Before starting assembly, check the second image showing an exploded view of the model. Use Super Glue to connect Body Parts (although I will add a snap-fit body design if this item gets extremely popular!). Securely attach the colored front strip before attaching the white face plate to the black body for seamless alignment. Depending on your printer and settings, the button may require some minor sanding along its edges for smooth fitment. PHOTO TIPS The custom Picture Frame holds 64 x 64 mm photos. I created a square frame so you can print and place your favorite Instagram photo in glossy paper within it. To prevent loss, there's no adhesive on the ridge where the photo resides - this lets you replace the image as desired. Consider using the built-in stand to display the camera with the frame for a unique and fun effect, just like on our initial photograph! For extra flair, print multiple Picture Frames and Stands and scatter them around your custom Polaroid OneStep Camera model.
