Milwaukee M18 T12 Soldering Station

Use caution if you make one of these as it could potentially over discharge your battery, be mindful of the charge left on the battery to avoid damage. I had the need for a portable soldering station, but I really didn't want to carry around yet another battery pack when I am working mobile. I found the Quicko T12 kits on eBay for super cheap and thought that would be perfect. I have a bunch of Milwaukee M18 battery packs that I take with me for my drills so why not adapt the soldering station to work on the batteries that I already take with me. macsboost published the design to use a M18 battery in custom projects, using that and the work done by Nick_Shl I was able to make a stand alone device that I could use to solder on the go. You will need: 1x16mm round latching push button, I got mine with a led ring, but you can use a solid one. 1x Quicko T12 soldering kit 2x blade wire connectors Some wire to crimp to the blade connectors Print the parts. Build the Soldering kit and install it into the plate that is included Wire everything up. This is the kit I purchased for the soldering station, it works on any voltage from 12v-24v so the 18v of the M18 battery is perfect. https://www.ebay.com/itm/12V-24V-Digital-Soldering-Iron-Station-Temperature-Controller-Kit-for-Hakko-T12-/252360695980 This switch will work, but any 16mm round switch will be perfect. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BSF-16mm-Red-On-Off-LED-12V-Latching-Push-Button-Power-Switch-Waterproof/232103183009 Spade connectors can be purchased just about anywhere, but these ones should work for the project, I removed the plastic cover on mine and crimped them flat as possible with pliers. https://www.ebay.com/itm/100x-Female-Male-Spade-Insulated-Connector-Crimp-Electrical-Wire-Terminal-BlueNN/273223242818 These links may not be valid forever as listings change frequently. Let me know if any are down and I will try to update them with current compatible parts.
