The ancient rock carving on Longframlington Common, Northumberland, near Millstone Burn, is a prehistoric outcrop that has been documented by Stan Beckensall in the Beckensall Archive (BA) as 'Millstone Burn 4a.' Added to the ERA database by NADRAP in 2008, this outcrop showcases an intricate design featuring small cups scattered liberally across its surface. According to Beckensall's description and drawing, the northern end of the rock features a slot that may have served as a cross base during medieval times, accompanied by several small cups. Beckensall noted the presence of five single-ringed cups, two with penannulars, and two with arcs, as well as a cup with a groove running down the rock featuring a penannular. Another cup on the outcrop boasts two penannulars, with its groove continuing into a series of joined cups. A model created from 5 stereo pairs captured by Dave Tuck and David Jones (NADRAP) in February 2006 presents the southern end of this prehistoric carving. The imagery is part of the full NADRAP archive deposited with Historic England, which can be accessed through the ERA & BA record at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=522.
