Prehistoric carved boulder found near Millstone Burn on Longframlington Common in Northumberland stands out as a notable discovery. This boulder is cataloged by the Beckensall Archive (BA) under the designation 'Millstone Burn 3e(i)' and was first added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. The NADRAP team provided a detailed description: Long, deep grooves likely caused by natural forces run along the length of this small stone. Several distinctive motifs are visible on its surface, including one large cup with a diameter of about six centimeters and two smaller possible cups measuring three centimeters in diameter. However, it's worth noting that these smaller cups may be formed by natural grooves rather than being intentionally carved. Further information regarding this boulder can be found through ERA & BA at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=532. This detailed 3D model was created from five stereo pairs captured by Dave Tuck and David Jones of NADRAP in April 2006. These images form part of the comprehensive NADRAP archive that has been deposited with Historic England and Northumberland County Council for preservation.
