Prehistoric carved outcrop near Millstone Burn on Longframlington Common, Northumberland, reveals its secrets. This exposure is documented as 'Millstone Burn 3bb' in the Beckensall Archive and added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. The archive describes: A single cup and a cup and ring with a groove from the ring that have been split in two by quarrying for building stone. However, the NADRAP team remains skeptical, suggesting instead that the feature is actually a small quarry on the eastern edge of the outcrop. They interpret this as a cup and ring cut through by quarrying, but heavily eroded and ending at a groove running across the outcrop. An alternative explanation could be a quarry wedge mark. The images are part of the full NADRAP archive deposited with Historic England and Northumberland County Council.
