Millstone Burn 2e (Oct 2006)
sketchfab
Prehistoric outcrop carved on Millstone Burn at Longframlington Common in Northumberland.\nThis exposed area is listed as 'Millstone Burn 2e' on the Beckensall Archive (BA) and described as: \n'Two ringed cups and two other cups. One cup has a natural groove leading to it, continued as a pecked groove away from the circle.'\nNADRAP added this site to ERA in 2008 and drew additional cups within the main cup and ring design. However, they only noted: \n'Cup and very thin ring with groove running to the north edge of the outcrop.'\nThis model shows motifs drawn by both projects. However, the second cup and ring drawn by Stan Beckensall is barely visible, if present at all. \nERA & BA record: https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=536\nModel created from 5 stereo pairs captured by Dave Tuck & David Jones (NADRAP) in October 2006. The images form part of the full NADRAP archive deposited with Historic England and Northumberland County Council.
