Got a common problem at work where your milk is always getting consumed quickly, even though you don't drink much? Better lock your fridge! This DIY solution will keep your milk safe from colleagues who love to raid the break room. A standard milk carton of around 6x9x19 cm (length x width x height) fits perfectly inside. To build this secure storage unit, in addition to the printed parts, you'll need: - 24 M5 locknuts - 6 woodscrews measuring 2.5 mm x 13 mm - 1 meter of threaded rod M5, cut into four pieces of 20 cm each - 1 hinge with three holes for screws and a pitch of 25 mm - A small lock (the clamp diameter should be smaller than 5 mm) You can find all these parts at your local hardware store. The assembly process is quite time-consuming due to the many locknuts involved. I used an electric screwdriver and a fork spanner to make it easier, but they're not essential. Start by mounting the threaded rods on the bottom part. Next, insert the middle piece. Then, attach the top part to the lid before mounting it onto the threaded rods. Use three woodscrews to connect the hinge to the top part. The remaining three woodscrews are needed to join the top and lid together; trim them to about 5 mm. To print the top part, enable support material. For the lid, check your printer's bridging performance to decide whether you need support or not.
