Mile Rock Beach occupies a secluded cove nestled beneath the Lands End Viewpoint in San Francisco's section of Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The panorama from Lands End encompasses the Marin Headlands, the gateway to San Francisco Bay, and the majestic Golden Gate Bridge. Furthermore, visible offshore is the lighthouse foundation on Mile Rock, which lends this beach its distinctive identity. Mile Rock Beach boasts a rugged shoreline, compact size, and an abundance of logs scattered about. At high tide, the shore is significantly narrowed, yet when the tide recedes, you can venture onto the boulder-strewn beach situated to the south.
