A highly detailed, three-dimensional model of the Mikoyan MiG-31 Foxbat is available for use. The textures are intricate and textured, including a diffuse texture that provides an authentic look. The maximum dimension of these textures is 4096 pixels, making them suitable for high-resolution displays. The model's history is steeped in Soviet aviation excellence. As the most capable Russian air defense interceptor aircraft, the FOXHOUND boasts a multiple-target engagement capability and was the first Soviet fighter to possess a true look-down, shoot-down capability. The key to the MiG-31's effectiveness lies in its SBI-16 Zaslon fixed phased array antenna radar, codenamed 'Flash Dance' by NATO, which is said to be the world's most powerful fighter radar. The new Soloviev D-30F6 engine was specifically designed for the MiG-31 to improve range, a critical performance parameter that surpassed that of the MiG-25. By 1987, over 150 FOXHOUNDs were operationally deployed at various locations across the Soviet Union, from the Arkhangelsk area in northwestern USSR to the Soviet Far East. The FOXHOUND is dedicated to homeland air defense and carries the long-range AA-9 air-to-air missiles. It can engage up to four different targets simultaneously with the M-9. The aircraft's wings are high-mounted and swept-back, featuring square tips and a negative slant. There are four underwing pylons, two turbofan engines in the fuselage, and rectangular and diagonal cut air intakes on the sides of the fuselage. The exhausts extend beyond the tail plane, while the fuselage is rectangular from the intakes to the exhausts with a long, pointed nose. The aircraft features a bubble canopy, back-tapered tail fins with angular tips that are canted outward, and swept-back and tapered flats that are mid- to low-mounted on the body.
