Mike Kelly's Dual Bowden E3Dv5 RoBo 3D X Carriage Mod
thingiverse
This old design requires additional work for E3Dv6 integration. Use my modular carriage instead. Here's what this is: a conversion of the stock RoBo 3D printer to dual bowden extruder, replacing the single direct feed extruder without losing x-travel. The x-carriage and cold end are separately released. As many RoBo 3D owners upgrade to E3D all-metal hot ends, this mod is for those who want to go from a single E3D to dual E3D setup to save costs on parts. However, if you're on the stock Robo 3D hot end and aiming for multi-extruders, it's recommended to wait for the kraken version instead. Instructions and BOM can be found at this link: [https://cloudup.com/cGGfhsMgMnd](https://cloudup.com/cGGfhsMgMnd). The build consists of four phases: removing the stock x-carriage, assembling the dual x-carriage, installing it, and reinstalling the x-axis and calibrating. Detailed instructions will be provided shortly.
