Mihai Eminescu, a pioneering Romanian poet, novelist, and journalist, left an indelible mark on literature with his profound works of art. Born on January 15, 1850, Eminescu's life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to his craft. As a prominent member of the Junimea literary society, he played a pivotal role in shaping Romanian literature. Eminescu's foray into journalism began with his appointment as an editor at Timpul, the official newspaper of the Conservative Party. His tenure there lasted from 1880 until 1918. At just 16 years old, Eminescu made his literary debut, publishing his first poems. A few years later, he traveled to Vienna to pursue higher education. The poet's remarkable legacy is evident in the numerous manuscripts that have been preserved for posterity. Containing an astonishing 46 volumes and approximately 14,000 pages, these manuscripts were gifted to the Romanian Academy by Titu Maiorescu on January 25, 1902. Eminescu's notable works include Luceafărul, Odă în metru antic, and his five Letters, which showcase his mastery of metaphysical, mythological, and historical themes. This dataset was meticulously acquired and processed by students enrolled in the Digital 3D Geometry Course taught by Prof. Mark Pauly at EPFL's School of Computer and Communication Sciences in Switzerland.
