Mihai Eminescu(15 January 1850 – 15 June 1889) was a renowned Romanian poet, novelist, and journalist who left an indelible mark on the literary world. Often regarded as Romania's most famous and influential poet, Eminescu was a key figure in the Junimea literary society and served as editor for the newspaper Timpul ("The Time"), the official organ of the Conservative Party (1880–1918). His poetry made its debut when he was just 16 years old, and by the time he turned 19, he had set out for Vienna to pursue his studies. The poet's manuscripts, comprising an impressive 46 volumes and approximately 14,000 pages, were graciously offered to the Romanian Academy on January 25, 1902, by Titu Maiorescu. Eminescu's notable works include Luceafărul (The Vesper/The Evening Star/The Lucifer/The Daystar), Odă în metru antic (Ode in Ancient Meter), and his five Letters (Epistles/Satires). His poems often explored metaphysical, mythological, and historical themes with great depth and insight.
