Mihai Eminescu (15 January 1850 – 15 June 1889) was a renowned Romantic poet and journalist who left an indelible mark on Romanian literature. Considered one of the most celebrated poets in history, Eminescu's literary prowess knew no bounds as he actively contributed to the prestigious Junimea literary society and worked as a respected editor for Timpul ("The Time"), the official newspaper of the Conservative Party (1880–1918). His poetic talent was first showcased at just 16 years old when his works were published, and by 19, he had embarked on an educational journey to Vienna. Eminescu's legacy is cemented in the extensive Manuscripts, comprising 46 volumes and approximately 14,000 pages, which Titu Maiorescu gifted to the Romanian Academy during a meeting held on 25 January 1902. His notable works include Luceafărul (The Vesper/The Evening Star/The Lucifer/The Daystar), Odă în metru antic (Ode in Ancient Meter), and the five Letters (Epistles/Satires). Eminescu's poetry often delved into metaphysical, mythological, and historical subjects, showcasing his boundless creativity. This object is part of "Scan The World".
