The MiG-19 Farmer C, an aircraft born from modifications to the MiG-17 design, showed glimpses of mediocrity at best, but made history as the very first Soviet jet to break the sound barrier in level flight, surpassing its predecessors like the MiG-15 and 17 that required a powered dive to reach such speeds. These subsonic jets took risks by breaking through the sound barrier in steep dives, putting pilots and planes at significant danger. Regrettably, the MiG-19 had a propensity for serious mechanical problems and engine fires, caused by overheating of its central fuel tank situated between the engines. Its shortcomings continued with unpredictable pitch-ups when air brakes were deployed, abrupt engine stalls, sudden throttle changes leading to flame-outs, and unusually high landing speeds. Many of these handling issues were addressed through an added all-moving stabilator and wing modifications; however, despite improvements, the MiG-19 struggled under various mechanical deficiencies. The high accident rate was not entirely alleviated until late in its production run. Despite such flaws, the MiG-19 found great success with the Vietnamese Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict, notably scoring kills against enemy aircraft including F-4's, F-104's, and F-105's. The North Vietnamese Air Force began receiving their batch of MiG-19s towards the end of Operation Rolling Thunder in 1968. During extensive combat engagements as part of Operations Linebacker I and II (also known as the Christmas Bombing), MiG-19 pilots engaged with significant enemy forces despite being outnumbered. Back in the Soviet Union, the MiG-19 had been largely replaced by the significantly more superior MiG-21 aircraft; however, various nations around the world, including China, maintained production and continued use of the MiG-19 in numerous variants, some remaining operational well into the 1990s. It was gradually retired from most military inventories during the 1970s but has seen its lifespan extended due to limited but continuous maintenance by certain countries. Key Features: 1.-Over Fifty Separate Movements of Articulation on Main Figure 2.-Operational Flaps, Ailerons, Rudder. Stabilator, Speed Brakes. Landing Gear Doors opening up or down; Steering Nose Gear in different directions and even turning wheels; Deployable Slats; Fully fold-up Wings as needed to save space; deploy a parachute of the drag chute type as well for any possible emergencies with working ejection seat too and also functioning Cockpit flight Controls. A special mention has been given towards ease control via ERC dials that help with smooth maneuverability from main location controls - also found ERC dial settings present within weaponry packs, which can be used during animation in various scenes; it offers flexibility for users to decide loadout needs easily with added options too at different mounts around fighter itself making total weapon count go as high as 8 plus sets, so no extra need is there here; one such crew man is available on request also including an optional FOD aircrew for pilots - along boarding steps & Engine Intake Covers included.
