Lip Decoration: Relatively bold impressions are applied to the lip top or exterior with fingers, resulting in crenelated or pie crust effects and alternating sections of flattened and plain types (231). Culture: Oneota people inhabit the La Crosse Locality during the Late Prehistoric Period, Pammel Creek Phase, A.D. 1400-1500. Period: This period marks a significant shift in Oneota culture at Sanford Archaeological District, site 47LC394-12. Site: Feature 407 holds the key to understanding Oneota Group Continuity at La Crosse.
