I thoroughly enjoyed this design: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2587684, and I'm grateful for the original designer's innovative work. I couldn't find any 6mm rods in my workshop, but fortunately, I had some 8mm rods on hand, so I made adjustments to accommodate the more widely available 8mm rods and Nema 17 stepper motors. To provide extra support for the pulleys, I modified the design to capture them securely on both sides. Unfortunately, due to hardware constraints, I couldn't use the original controller board. Additionally, I haven't included endstop mounting yet, as I've opted for a simpler solution: adding G92 X0 Y0 to my start script to zero out the axes before printing begins. This allows me to manually position the print head at zero and then run the gcode without any issues.
