This one-year-old daughter adores Mater's Tall Tales, particularly the episode featuring Mater in a Drift Race in Tokyo. Inspired by this, the author entered the Crazy Cart Design Challenge and decided to incorporate ground effects lighting into their design. The case was designed to hold batteries and circuit boards, with switches for turning on and selecting colors. Seeing other entries motivated the author to add more features inspired by Tokyo Mater. To make the Crazy Cart resemble Mater's lowered body, the front powertrain was scaled down, and the foot and foot mount were shortened. The wheel hole was shrunk for a better appearance. In the back, a drift bar was placed over the bottom tray, with some adjustments to cover the wheels. Instead of additional batteries, a massive spoiler inspired by Mater's wing was added as it fit the theme better. The flag on the Crazy Cart was modified to have a sweeping motion. The author worked on animations using linear and rotary motors and shared test videos on YouTube. They also created an animation for the LED light, but due to limitations in KeyShot, the lights changing color could not be animated. Final video of the completed project was uploaded, showcasing the wheels rolling, spoiler, and lighting. The author also shared all their Solid Edge files in a .zip format that might inspire others for future challenges.
