I have built a MIDI controller for my study. It features eight linear faders and an array of sixteen buttons with LED indicators. Additionally, it includes eight knobs to access different settings on various instruments; you can use it as a general MIDI controller too. This setup is plug-and-play compatible. Below are the files for this project if they prove useful. Building something like this can be a significant time investment, so hopefully, these resources will help someone building their own save some hours.
