Mike Short discovered this small rock in March 2010, just north of Dryas Dike in Middleton Moor's Middle Ridge area, North Yorkshire. The rock was located near a small scattered cairn and within 15 meters of two other carved rocks. Measuring approximately 0.5m by 0.4m, the rock features one unusual deep conical cup placed fairly centrally, an irregularly shaped, broad, deep depression, a smaller regular cup, and a curving groove. It shares characteristics with several other carved rocks in Middleton Moor, such as being domed and featuring a curving groove that utilizes its morphology. Shortly after its discovery, it acquired the nickname "Casper Rock" due to its resemblance to the friendly ghost. This rock was added to Keith Boughey's regional rock art archive as IAG440a, and does not have an ERA record. A model created from 2 stereo pairs captured using a calibrated 10mp Canon Powershot A640 on April 4, 2010, reveals the carving completely covered upon a recent field trip to the area.
