Update 1: I updated the screw plate and uploaded a new version of the platform, which should be printable w/o support. - Let me know if it works for you. After the amazing feedback on reddit, here the STL files for my middle finger pen trophy. Remixed from: www.thingiverse.com/thing:1554812 You will also need: - 3x 10 mm M3 hex screws - 3x M3 brass insert nuts - 1x 8.0 x 3.0 mm disc magnet - 1x 16 x 27 x 0.5 mm iron sheet - 1x ball pen refill (ISO 12757) (+ optionally a small spring) - soldering iron - super glue Instructions: - Print all the parts: o Hand: support enabled, 1.2 mm wall thickness, 10 % infill o Finger: no support, brim recommended, upright orientation, 1.2 mm wall thickness, 10 % infill o Platform: support enabled (not everywhere but touching build plate in cura), 1.2 mm wall thickness, 10 % infill o Rest: no support, upright orientation, 1.2 mm wall thickness, 10 % infill - test the fit between the middle finger pen and the hand --> if the fit is too tight, sand everything down until the pen can be inserted and removed easily Hand: - Melt the brass insert nuts into the bottom of the PRINTED hand - Insert the iron sheet (e.g. from an old package) into the slot in the PRINTED hand and use the soldering iron and some filament to close the hole / encapsulate the sheet Pen: - Glue the disc magnet into the back of the pen - Glue the thread insert into the pen - Check if the ball pen refill goes smoothly into the channel, otherwise use a drill (6 mm) to remove any excess material - Insert the ball pen refill and screw the cap onto the pen, if the hole at the tip is too tight use a 2.5 - 3 mm drill to remove any excess material FINISHED :) Tip: Place coins or some weights in the platform to make it an even classier trophy for your desk.
