Mid Century House 1 - N-Scale (1:160)
cults3d
About These Models I'll be uploading 12 files in November 2017. Kits are almost ready for use - just a little trimming and sanding required. I've made tolerance adjustments for fitting windows and other objects, but there are so many variables in 3D printing that I can only get close. Flanges have been added to make it easy to attach glue to objects where necessary, without interfering with others. I built these models on a budget 3D printer at .2 Resolution, making them easily printable for anyone interested. If your print bed is too small, try scaling down, but only as much as needed, and use the same scale for associated files. As I start to develop textures like brick, block, stone, siding, etc., there will be a need to print in higher resolution, but I'll make sure to mention that. Designed for N-Scale I modeled them for N scale (1:160) because it's ideal for space-saving and the files easily fit on the printing bed. The size also allows me to add details like textures (rock, brick, block, stone, etc.). I'm still working on such details, but they'll be available in texture add-on files soon. Roofs, Floors, Slabs Etc Given the time and material required for these objects, I often prefer using other materials. To make your own, I've provided dimensions to help you create them. I use polystyrene, basswood, chipboard, card stock, or good cardboard instead of printing. Architectural I'm not an architect, but I enjoy 3D modeling in Sketchup and couldn't resist buying a 3D printer. This is just a hobby and for fun - don't take my interpretations too seriously. I've made no attempt to model interior features or walls, but might do so in the future. These are meant to be exterior studies only. This first group of models mostly feature Mid Century Design, which I find fun to model. Some of these designs are from old House Plan Magazine advertisements - some copies have been included with the files. I intend on adding more series every month and remain open to suggestions. Have fun and let me know what you do with these.
