Mid-20th Century Statue of Liberty Souvenir Model
thingiverse
A classic souvenir sold to tourists in the mid-20th century around New York City area streets. The figure of the Statue of Liberty is a roughly molded replica, closely modeled after the design used in six-inch models sold by the American Committee in the 1880s to help raise funds for the pedestal construction. The pedestal underneath the goddess features a later version than what was used in the 1880s model. This souvenir's base design likely dates back to the mid to late 1960s as the platform structure now rises above Fort Wood's terreplein and conceals the original base under the pedestal. I'm excited to share this quirky little tschoke from my collection, a true piece of tacky Americana.
