<h4>Summary</h4><p>This cable guide secures your wires on your <a href="https://store.micro-swiss.com/products/micro-swiss-direct-drive-extruder">Microswiss Direct Drive</a>. There's also a cable guide for the X Gantry (where the original extruder went). These ensure that your wiring doesn't get damaged from movement.</p><p>This should be compatible with any fan duct setup, since this mounts to the motor.</p><p>This was designed for heat set inserts, but you can use M3 nuts, instead.</p><h4>Parts Needed</h4><ul><li>2 M3x15 Bolts</li><li>2 M3 heat-set inserts <strong>OR</strong> 2 M3 nuts</li><li>2 small-medium zip ties</li></ul><h4>Instructions</h4><h5>Extruder Cable Guide</h5><ol><li>Print the <strong>Top Clamp</strong> and <strong>Bottom Clamp</strong> laying flat.&nbsp;<ul><li>No supports are needed</li><li>I recommend a heat-resistant plastic, such as PETG, or ABS. PLA may get too hot and become soft.</li></ul></li><li>Insert two M3 heat-set inserts into the holes. See the photos.&nbsp;<ul><li><strong>OR</strong> use two nuts in the next step.</li></ul></li><li>Place the bottom and top clamp around the extruder motor and bolt it down with two M3 bolts. See the photos.</li><li>Place your wires in the guide and secure with two zip-ties.</li></ol><h5>X-Gantry Cable Guide</h5><ol><li>Print the <strong>X Gantry Cable Plate</strong> flat, no supports are necessary.&nbsp;</li><li>Insert at least two M3 nuts into the top recesses.<ul><li>There are recesses for 4 nuts, but 2-3 is sufficient.&nbsp;</li></ul></li><li>Bolt the plate down with M3 bolts (from the bottom).</li><li>Secure the wiring with two zip-ties.</li></ol><h4>Notes</h4><p>I designed this to have a +0.2mm tolerance around the extruder motor. This should be sufficient for most printers, while still being secure.</p><p>The cable guide is designed for a wire bundle of about 15mm in diameter.
