Microsoft Surface Pro 3\4 Power Adapter Cable Protector
thingiverse
I spend a lot of time on trains, constantly unwrapping and coiling my Surface Pro 4 power adapter's power cord. After two years and four months, the insulation near the gland is wearing thin due to this repetitive motion. The supply has become intermittent, prompting me to design and print a solution that keeps the cable in a fixed radius close to the gland. My goal is to slow down erosion of the insulation and wires. This simple device provides protection from wear and tear where the power adapter meets the retention gland. It also serves as a guide for the power cord when winding around the adapter.
