Microsoft LifeCam Studio Camera Mount

To attach a Microsoft LifeCam Studio 1080P camera to a standard shelving unit found at a typical big-box store, locate the keyhole on your upright. The hole is typically 14mm in diameter. There are two types of mounts available: one for outside mounting and another with an offset design that allows for camera movement when installed inside the upright. Two styles of retainers are also offered. I created my own using a 5mm threaded heat-set insert from McMaster-Carr (part number 94180A361), but also developed one utilizing a standard 5mm nut.
