Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 Webcam mount | FRC 330
thingiverse
These mounts are designed for use with the Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 Web camera on an FRC robot, but they can be used on anything else too. The camera itself comes with a heavy, rubber-coated, hinged stand that's quite annoying to deal with except when it's placed on top of a desktop monitor. Update: As of Finals Match 3 on the Einstein Field, this camera mount was featured on "Optimus Climb" created by Team 330 - The Beach Bots, who won the 2016 World Championship. In 2017, we made some improvements to the tab profile and designed new adjustable mounts for that year's game. Some were used for testing, while others were placed directly onto the actual robot. FLIR_v1: This design mounts the camera flush against a plane, with a tapping point for an #8-32 screw. FLIR_v2: This version mounts the camera at an 8-degree angle from the plane and is designed to tap an #8 screw in place. Cameramount_LEDS: This mount is taller than others and features curved slots to adjust yaw as well as two front slots for holding LED holders. LEDholder: This part holds two LED rings centered around the camera, similar to those sold by Adafruit (https://www.adafruit.com/product/1463) and (https://www.adafruit.com/product/1586). LEDholder_2LEDs: This design holds two individual superbright LEDs. Print Settings: Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: .2 Infill: 100% Notes: Both mounts are designed to be printed on their backs. They've been printed multiple times without issue. Post-Printing The original stand must be removed from the camera first, which can be done by unscrewing two small Phillips head screws located in a recession on the back of the camera (they may be hard to see, so you might need a light). Remove the front plate, take out the screws on the PCB, carefully move it aside and remove the pin that holds the original stand in place. The new mount will then fit into the recess. The mounts are designed for a friction fit but can be more securely attached using superglue (use at your own risk). If you experience a loose fit with the camera on the printed part, try adding some small pieces of electrical tape to increase the thickness of the tab.
