This housing securely holds the sensor from a Microsoft HD-6000 webcam in place. The 2-inch nosepiece easily fits into a telescope for clear viewing. A pixel spacing of 3 micrometers characterizes this webcam's resolution. This housing can be used as a planetary camera or you can print a 2-inch - EF adapter to use on a Canon lens for a guide camera, check out the design at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3337856. For more detailed information about this project, please visit https://td0g.ca/2019/01/05/telescope-mount-diy-tracker-v3/. On March 7th, 2019, two versions of this housing became available: a 1-inch long tapered nosepiece and (at the request of Baelyn) a 1.5-inch long straight nosepiece. Steps to assemble this housing are as follows: 1. Disassemble the HD-6000 webcam and keep the sensor-mounting screws safe. 2. Use those screws to mount the webcam onto the body of this housing securely. 3. Mount the cover onto the housing using 3 or 6 M6 x 10mm screws, or use longer screws like 8 - 12mm. Important Note: PLA can transmit a small amount of light through it, so if you're printing with low infill, paint the inside of the housing to prevent any light transmission.
