Microscope to Monitor Arm Adapter
thingiverse
I needed a microscope for repairing electronics, but I didn't want to spend £500+ on one with a boom arm. So, I ended up buying just the microscope head with focus ring at a fraction of the price, but still had to find a way to mount it. I came up with an idea to adapt a pull-out monitor mount like the ones in my office. After some searching, I found a cheap monitor arm on Ebay for £14 (Invision). Then, I designed this adapter to bolt into place of the VESA bracket and accept the 16mm post mount of my microscope's focus ring. To make it work, you'll need: * A monitor arm: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0765Y4CT5/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_XuSYDbGJSBKZ7 * One M6x40 cap head bolt * One M6 nut (preferably Nylock) * One microscope focus ring/bracket with 16mm post: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07YG8LLLX/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_ZBSYDbYQVWA7V * One microscope head (I got mine from Aliexpress for £133, as it has good reviews and is the cheapest by far)
