Microscope to iPhone adapter

Microscope to iPhone adapter

thingiverse

Here is a simple adapter designed to mount an iPhone to a microscope. The eyepiece clamp is optimized for use with a 28mm lens but might fit larger lenses as well. To simplify the design and ensure proper alignment, additional clamps were omitted, allowing for easy adjustment of the iPhone so that the image appears clearly on screen. Because this adapter has a clamp, it's possible to adjust the adapter and phone up or down on the eyepiece to get the perfect focal distance. To keep the iPhone in place, I use a rubber band to clamp it to the adapter. This seems to hold securely enough, but still allows room for adjustment as needed. This design was inspired by FlorentBonnefoi's creative solution found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:178047. To build your own version of this adapter, follow these steps: Design Your Adapter First, I designed this adapter in Rhino 5, and printed it out on a LulzBot Mini using Cura with natural HIPS. The extruder temperature was set to 240C, and the bed temperature to 60C. For printing quality, I chose Normal from the settings available in Cura. Support should be included for the clamp when you print.
