Sir Charles Scott Sherrington was an English neurophysiologist, histologist, bacteriologist, and pathologist who received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Edgar Adrian, 1st Baron Adrian, in 1932 for their groundbreaking work on neurons' functions. Born on November 27, 1857, Sherrington served as president of the Royal Society in the early 1920s, solidifying his esteemed reputation. This 3D model is a meticulous reproduction of Sherrington's Histology Box recovered around 2010. Designed for storage of up to ten microscopy slides, it offers a spacious compartment with a pit arrangement accommodating regular slides (75 x 25 mm). Each slide pit features a handle, allowing for easy insertion and removal. This model aims to provide 'fancy storage' for permanent microscopy slides, adding a vintage touch to the standard item. It would undoubtedly look fantastic on a teacher's desktop. As this project is still in progress, additional compartments will be added to accommodate slides of varying dimensions. If you decide to print one, kindly post your creation in the "I Made One" section. Note: The first 3D preview model is not a print-in-place design but rather for representation purposes. Print the base and slide compartments separately for optimal results.
