The current version features an enhanced grip at the front to simplify opening. I highly recommend printing with PETG since it can be easily wiped down and cleaned with lab cleaning reagents such as 70% ethanol. However, I have also printed some in PLA and they seem to work well too. This design should also work well if you have a microscope at home and want to store some of your slides flat for easy access. Assembly: The hinge for the lid and bottom can be secured by inserting a 1.75 mm filament through its entire length. It can then be held in place by melting the ends of the filament. I use six, 3mm x 1mm magnets to keep it shut. While not necessary, they ensure that your slides remain secure.
