Microscope Slide Divider
thingiverse
Microscope slide dividers for anyone who wants to create custom microscope slide boxes/cassettes of all sizes - from pocket-sized containers to gigantic multi-layered units. As the name implies, the Slide Holder (A4).stl fits any A4-sized box perfectly. Print 4 of these to accommodate up to 82 slides at once. I've also uploaded the Slide Holder Unit.stl for anyone who wants to customize it using their favorite 3D modeling program. No .scad file is available, but blend files are available for Blender 3D users. To print successfully, use an array to multiply the units at +1 unit (or +5mm) offset along the fat arm of the "L". The printer settings used were as follows: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 200 microns Infill: 20% Notes: This model fits most standard Prusa i3 printers. Simply rotate the model 45 degrees around the Z-axis. Depending on your arrangement skills, you can print up to 4 A4-sized holders at a time. This print requires a perfectly levelled bed, so make sure you do proper levelling and bed cleaning before printing. Do not use rafts or skirts - learn to clean your bed and set the temps right for adequate adhesion. Important: Note that in slicing using Craftware, set a Vertical shell offset of -0.07 to the inside to ensure that the slides fit perfectly. Tweak an equivalent setting when using other slicers. After printing, the print may require removal of strings in between the 'teeth'. Printing two models placed side by side (at a 45 degree angle rotation) works best to minimize "inter-tooth" travels and stringing.
