Microscope Mobile Phone Adapter
thingiverse
This 3D printed adapter lets users take photos through a microscope with ease. Many similar models exist online, but I found them limited by being tailored specifically for certain mobile phones or unnecessarily bulky and complex. This design accommodates most phones, allowing for adjustable widths from around 55mm to 90mm, while the open top and bottom sections provide flexible length capabilities. A maximum thickness of about 12mm is a good estimate, making it suitable for use with off-center cameras as well. If the camera is centered on one side, users can easily flip the print on most printers to accommodate the opposite position. The design comprises just three printed parts, five screws, and an optional set of five nuts (nuts aren't strictly necessary since screw holes are tightly designed to work without them). A single clamp STL file is included; to create the second clamp, users need only flip the "CLAMP" STL and print it. An M3 screw is required for securing the clamp around the microscope lens, while four M4 screws are needed for clamping the mobile in place. Printer Settings: Brand: RepRap Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.12mm Infill: 15% Notes: Two clamps are required, one of which needs to be mirrored. The design allows the camera to be placed off-center. Depending on where the mobile's camera lens is positioned, users might need to mirror the eye mount print as well. If desired, users can drill out holes for added security using nuts; otherwise, screws can be driven directly into the plastic.
