I acquired this cost-effective scope for examining and soldering surface mount electronics. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XNYXQHE This mount enables me to keep it on the wall and hold it above my PCB to do magnified soldering, or simply inspect the work after it's done. I'm utilizing a raspberry pi to view images, and it's a bit delayed at full resolution, but at 800x600, it's very fast. I constructed the interconnecting arm on the table saw from plywood. The components are 3/4"x3/4"x6". The slots measure about 1/4", but I made them a precise fit. M4 or #6-32 screws are used for the pins.
