Microscope Adapter for iPhone 10/SE

This is a support plate for an iPhone 10 (X) for use on a Microscope eyepiece.

The phone slides in and is held in place with clamps on the side, bottom and top.

The base is relatively thin and can therefore bend slightly, to enable (un-)mounting the phone. To avoid hanging down, there is a support-beam that swivels around the tube and keeps the support plate straight and strong. It is held in place with a paper clamp.

A paper clamp is also used to keep the position of the tube over the eyepiece tube from the microscope to maintain the best position for the lens.

The tube is glued in place with normal contact glue for plastics.

A 26 mm eyepiece can slide in from top or bottom of the tube and is not pulled out when removing the adapter plate. 28mm eyepieces must be inserted from the top, before sliding the iPhone in place. A small light-blocking ring is placed on the top of the tube to avoid stray light and reflections.

Additionally an insert is provided to place the smaller iPhone SE in the same adapter.

All parts are made in eSun PETG.

For the iPhone I use the mScopePal app, because it allows manual adjustment of focus, sensitivity (iso) exposure time and white balance, very helpful and free!

STL files were generated from Sketchup, after that imported in 3DBuilder from Microsoft and repaired where needed and saved in .3mf files.
