Microquad 65mm Smiley

Human: Constructed a sturdy framework for the F3 Evo board from bang good, employing a combination of pressfits to secure the camera, motors, and flight controller in place. Capable of accommodating 55mm or 65mm props, it is specifically designed for 65mm usage and weighs around 64g total with a 720mah battery. Rubber bands (dental bands) are utilized to hold the battery firmly in position. The motor mounts fit snugly to prevent wires from being dislodged from the base of the motors. A previous iteration, which weighed 2 grams less, did not yield sufficient performance gains to justify the frequent breakage of motor wires. Print Settings Printer: i3 Prusa Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .4mm Infill: 100% Notes: Use PETG. A .8 mm nozzle is highly recommended. This frame can be printed in under 30 minutes. With a .2mm layer height and a .4mm nozzle, it took over 90 minutes to print successfully. There have been no alterations made to the motor mounts or any press fit parts when switching from a .4mm to an .8mm nozzle. Don't waste your time waiting for a simple print like this to finish. We're building quad frames, not miniatures! How I Designed This Flight Controller: Centered the flight controller and started with a thin extrude to determine the center of gravity of the frame. Iterations were necessary to remove material in key locations around and beneath the flight controller. A significant distinction from previous quad frames is that material was removed for the FETS, motor solder pads, and power pads to achieve a flush press fit. Image showing the 4 cutouts for the FETs and then the cutouts for USB and power pads (bottom of the FC box), reused from the Dreamweaver frame as both utilize the same FC box.
