Microphone Stand

I needed a compact desktop stand to hold my vintage DJ microphone right in front of me. The stand itself was the missing piece I had been looking for - I already had the clip part that securely holds the mic. This stand is designed to be printed without any supports, which makes it super convenient to build. The fitting isn't threaded, but rather slightly tapered, allowing my mic holder to simply sit on top and swivel freely (as shown in the picture). Two pre-assembled "platter" files are provided, one for each of the Tripod or Quinpod versions. However, all parts are included separately as well, so you can customize them to your liking with an OpenSCAD file. The "Socks" might not be necessary, but they prevent the stand from rocking on uneven surfaces. That way, only you'll be rocking the mic like a pro. I've printed the tripod version, leaving the qinpod version as experimental for now - I plan to print it next if my tripod breaks down. The quinpod looks more professional, but printing it takes longer, and I needed something fast. If you're also looking for a mic holder that will fit on top of this stand, I found one on Thingiverse that seems mostly compatible: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:145635 Print Settings: * Printer Brand: Wanhao * Printer Model: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: 0.2mm * Infill: 40% * Notes: To achieve good mechanical strength, use minimum fill and thick walls. I print with PETG, and the stand is very solid. However, the vertical "mast" might need to be thickened if you're using brittle or weaker materials like PLA or ABS.
