This Shock Mount attaches to the top of a tripod/mic stand and allow your mic to attach to it via a standard 1/4-20UNC tripod mount. Once mounted, the Shock Mount will drastically reduce all noise that flows through the tripod/mic stand. A good Shock Mount will eliminate the basy thuds that sometimes is heard on a recording as people or things move about in the room.
