Before our trip to the USA Science and Engineering Festival in Washington DC, we desired a more professional appearance for our school Maker Team's video. To ensure high-quality audio at noisy events, we used the Zoom H1 microphone while synchronizing it with the camera's video. We quickly designed a mic flag in OpenSCAD just before the event, and its first iteration was perfect. The flag slides up from the bottom of the microphone and snaps securely into place, one side at a time. It leaves room for common controls like record, play, and power, with enough space to use other controls if needed. A template for four 50mm x 35mm designs is included in an SVG file, which can be cut out by hand or with a ruler and hobby knife. If interested, the scad files are available for tweaking. Here's a video showing the mic flag in action: http://youtu.be/YQ2AEEE9rHs. A pop/wind filter has also been made for the microphone, which will be posted later.
